Hofer Symphoniker
From the 2024/25 season, Martijn assumed the role of Chief Conductor of the Hof Symphony Orchestra (Hofer Symphoniker). His contract initially covers four seasons, during which he leads the subscription concerts at the Freiheitshalle and conducts guest performances throughout the Upper Franconia (Oberfranken) region.
Highlights of his first season as chief conductor included Tchaikovsky’s Manfred Symphony, the German premiere of the piano concerto by Doreen Carwithen, with soloist Alexandra Dariescu, as well as the h-moll-Messe by Bach. In the 2025/26 season, he will lead the orchestra in masterpieces like Tchaikovsky’s and Mendelssohn’s Fifth Symphony, as well as Beethoven’s Eroica symphony. Internationally renowned soloists like Nils Mönkemeyer, Alexander Melnikov and Andrei Ionita will join Martijn and the orchestra.
